Multi-Generational Family Business Award
Nunn’s Home Medical, founded in 1942 by Martin J. Nunn, grew from a small business meeting his own need for a wheelchair into a trusted provider of medical equipment rentals. Passed down to his daughters, Sheila Murphy and Nancy Nunn Ryan, and son-in-law Joe Ryan, the company is now led by Martin's granddaughter, Erin Weiman, and her husband Shawn. Recently, Nunn’s was honored as the winner of the Multi-Generational Family Business category at the CNY Business Journal Family Business Contest. Celebrating its 80th anniversary, the company continues to thrive, partnering with healthcare providers across 25 counties in Central New York and employing over 80 people, including Erin's siblings.
Mastectomy Expanded
With over 80 years of experience as a medical equipment supplies, Nunn’s was honored to have been approached last year by the owners of Lady Jane Mastectomy Boutique, to step in and fill the role of supporting their clients. The owners were retiring and the business closing, but they wanted to ensure a smooth transition for the women they were committed to serving. Nunn’s has had certified mastectomy fitters on staff for over 10 years, along with private fitting rooms at both Rome and Syracuse locations and was ready and able to take the responsibility on.

2020 – 40 Under 40 In CNY Award
In November 2020, Nunn’s Home Medical proudly celebrated a remarkable achievement as owner, Erin Weiman was honored with the “40 Under 40 in CNY” award. This prestigious recognition highlighted her leadership, dedication, and impact — and we are incredibly proud to have her leading our team.
2017 – Celebrating 75 Years
In 2017, Nunn’s Home Medical Equipment proudly celebrated 75 years of serving Central New York. The milestone year was filled with memorable events, including an After-Hours Business Party, participation in local parades, and the honor of being named the Mohawk Valley's Best of the Best Medical Equipment Supplier by the Observer-Dispatch.
2015 – Syracuse Expansion
In November 2015, Nunn’s Home Medical Equipment expanded its reach with the opening of a second location in Syracuse, bringing our trusted care and service to even more communities.
